UK Symposium on Device Therapy for Hypertension
January 16 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm£50
We are pleased to invite you to attend the 2020 UK Symposium on Device Therapy of Hypertension on Wednesday 29 April 2020 at The Royal College of Physicians, London hosted by the Barts NIHR Cardiovascular Biomedical Research Centre. This educational symposium will address key topics in device therapy of hypertension with a particular focus on renal denervation, and is aimed at interventional cardiologists and radiologists, nephrologists and primary/secondary care physicians with a special interest in hypertension.
Uncontrolled hypertension remains a global health challenge and has major consequences for patients and healthcare providers. Despite the wide availability of cheap, effective pharmacotherapy, rates of blood pressure are disappointingly poor. The role of device therapy of hypertension in such patients therefore is of great interest and speculation. In particular, the renal denervation field has been re-invigorated recently with the publication of positive data in well-designed, contemporary clinical trials using robust end-points. This symposium will provide delegates with a state-of-the-art update in the breadth of device-based technologies in the hypertension field. Once again, we are fortunate to have international leaders and clinical pioneers to cover these latest developments, as well as more nascent technologies that target the carotid baroreflex.
